Unforgiveness is like drinking poison hoping the other person dies. Unforgiveness causes bitterness and diseases such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Cancer, Heart Diseases, Constipation, Skin Conditions, Insomnia, Depression, Anxiety, etc. When bitterness takes root in our hearts, an avalanche of negative emotions will eventually overcome us physically, mentally and spiritually. Be reconciled with the person who hurt you...forgive so that you will also be forgiven by God.
Matthew 6:15 (ICB)
But if you don’t forgive the wrongs of others, then your Father in heaven will not forgive the wrong things you do.
But if you don’t forgive the wrongs of others, then your Father in heaven will not forgive the wrong things you do.
Last Sunday, Bishop Chris Hildenbrand preached about unforgiveness he titled "Shed The Weight." At the end of Bishop Chris Hildenbrand's message, the congregants lined up, prayed the forgiveness prayer, wrote the negative emotions (they felt caused by the person who wronged them) on pieces of paper and nailed them on the cross, took some stones and wrote the initials of the people they forgave and placed them under the spout of the water fountain to be saturated by God's blessings. The act of forgiveness released the people that wronged them and released themselves from the torment of unforgiveness and bondage of bitterness.
THE FORGIVENESS PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I have decided to forgive _____(name). What _____(name) did to me was wrong. What _____(name) did to me was sin. Separate that sin from ____(name) and nail it to the cross of Jesus, Your Son, who died on the cross for our sins. On judgment day, I will not hold anything against ______(name). Bless ____(name), Father. Saturate _____(name) with Your blessings, Lord. Thank you Jesus.
